11.6% passenger increase in 2011 creates new Vueling annual record

Vueling has reported that in 2011 it carried 12,315,721 passengers, an 11.6% increase in the number of carried passengers compared with 2010.

This figure was accompanied by a load factor of 75.6% for 2011, 2.4 percentage points higher than the load factor in 2010.

Revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs) for the year totalled 10,820 million compared with 9,932 million in 2010, an 8.9% increase. Available seat kilometres (ASKs) went up by 5.5% to 14,314 million from 13,569 million, year-on-year.

In December 2011, Vueling carried 846,752 passengers, a 15.3% increase compared with December 2010. The load factor for the month was 76.5%, 6.2 pp higher than December 2010.

RPKs in December totalled 744 million, 12.4% up on the 662 million generated in December 2010. ASKs for the month rose by 3.3% to 973 million from 942 for the respective periods.
