WestJet and GuestLogix are to begin working together to leverage the airline’s streamed in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) portal to create ancillary revenue by offering products and services
via passenger’s personal electronic devices (PEDs).
The expanded renewal agreement between the two companies will also see WestJet deploying the GuestLogix ‘Ancillary Insights’ business intelligence platform, which GuestLogix claim will provide the airline with relevant analysis and reports.
Elsewhere, the agreement sees the continuation of WestJet’s use of the GuestLogix retail platform and handheld point-of-sale devices – to sell food and beverages in-flight – and the company’s ‘Global Payment Gateway’ system for revenue protection.
“WestJet has been a long-time and very important customer to GuestLogix,” commented Brett Proud, president and CEO of GuestLogix. “The airline epitomises what it means to be a successful on-board retailer while holding an enviable guest service standard in all areas of its business. There is great opportunity in implementing an omni-channel solution that enables WestJet guests to purchase goods through multiple sales channels, extending the shopping opportunity throughout the entire duration of the flight, and we’re thrilled to be supporting this key initiative across WestJet’s network.”
