Chinese low-cost carrier Spring Airlines has partnered with social media platform WeChat, to pilot an in-flight mobile payment service on two flights.
According to sources, WeChat Pay users with a credit score above 550 can apply for the service, allowing them to make purchases while offline during the flight, and pay automatically via their accounts on landing.
WeChat is apparently hoping to extend the trial to other flights improve the in-flight shopping experience.
