Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium has been flying digEcor’s new digEplayer L7 since July for rental to passengers on medium haul flights aboard its Airbus A320s to Egypt, the Canary Islands and Jordan.
The digEplayer L7 features a 7-inch capacitive touch screen and optical mouse for easy navigation of the menu, which can be viewed in English, Dutch or French. Benefiting from digEcor’s in-house content services, passengers have their choice of Hollywood movies, some with French audio and Dutch sub-titles.
The vendor says the airline was looking to increase passenger’s satisfaction with their on board services by introducing a personal digital player. “After reviewing a selection of different providers, we were convinced that the digEplayer L7 would be the best option to obtain this level of satisfaction”, says Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium technical director Patrick Lamonte. "Our passengers appreciate the design and functionality of the digEplayer and are delighted that they now can select the movie, television show and audio they desire."
“We appreciate the partnership that we have with Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium as our launch customer for the digEplayer L7," says digEcor president Brad Heckel. "We’ve been able to make several minor improvements based on the initial feedback from passengers and flight attendants."
digEcor is exhibiting at the WAEA show in Long Beach this week (Booth 1647). “We invite airlines to come visit our booth and see some of our new offerings,” adds Heckel.
