Global aviation service provider, Flying Colours Corp., has been selected by ViaSat as an authorized reseller and installation facility for its satellite high-speed Internet equipment and service offering.
Under the agreement the Canadian completions company will be responsible for promoting and selling ViaSat’s VMT-1500 Shipset to a global consumer, business and government client base. The system enables aircraft to use ViaSat’s Yonder high-speed internet service for aircraft. Operating on ViaSat’s near global satellite network, the satellite communications provider claims Yonder is the fastest internet connectivity available along the world’s busiest air routes, and enables office-in-the-sky functionality.
“This is an important agreement for us as it means we can continue to offer our clients the best in-flight connectivity and communication options available,” stated Eric Gillespie, Executive Vice-President for Flying Colours Corp.
The agreement follows Flying Colours Corp. first committed installation of the ViaSat VMT-1500 system on a Bombardier CRJ ExecLiner conversion underway at its Peterborough facility.
“Our client is looking forward to having this state-of-the-art communications option installed on his aircraft as it provides a solution to his requirement for continuous global connectivity,” added Gillespie.
”Flying Colours opens a new segment of the business aviation market to ViaSat,” commented ViaSat director of mobile broadband, Don Buchman. “The company enjoys a well-deserved reputation for innovation in equipping business aircraft with the latest communications technology.”
