Turkish Airlines has announced plans to install 44 of its aircraft with the SKYFE brand of products developed by Havelsan and Turkish Technic.
The SKYFE family consists of two solutions, SKYFE?W and SKYFE-T. The former is a wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) system which allows passengers to download applications from platforms such as Google Play and the Apple Store to personal electronic devices before their flight as well as to access audio and video on demand, a flight map, electronic publications, surveys and other services during their journey.
SKYFE-T is a tablet-based in-flight entertainment solution designed to cater to business class passengers on flights where embedded IFE systems are not available. The SKYFE?T system, when used on aircraft which features SKYFE?W, will automatically connect to the existing server on board to access 1.8 terabytes of media content.
SKYFE won the tender for the Turkish Airlines contract against seven other competitors.
