As part of their ‘Widen Your World’ motto, Turkish Airlines’ in-flight entertainment (IFE) selection will now feature live concert videos, behind the scenes footage and up-to-date news from artists in the music industry courtesy of Universal Music Group.
“The partnerships we have established with the world’s largest brands are definitely very important in increasing our global brand awareness,” commented Akif Konar, Turkish Airlines’ CCO. “The partnership we have established with the global music leader Universal Music Group will have an impact on passenger satisfaction to a highest level.”
Olivier Robert-Murphy, Universal Music Group’s global head of brand partnerships complimented Turkish Airlines, calling it an “incredibly forward thinking organisation that is taking a pioneering approach to the passenger experience by embedding music right at the heart of their service.”
The music content, which is to be updated monthly, will be presented through ‘My Music Planet’, a new platform created by Turkish Airlines. It will also allow passengers to stream the latest albums from Universal Music Group’s unique library.
Other features of ‘My Music Planet’ include ‘Artist of the Month’, whereby a renowned artist will present a unique video about Turkish Airlines’ flight destination of the month. Destinations will also have specific playlists designed for them, showcasing music from around the globe.
Finally, passengers will have the opportunity to win VIP tour packages to some of the most exclusive shows and music events in the world, with round-trip plane tickets, VIP experiences, 4* hotel accommodation and more.
The airline also recently tweeted that passengers will be able to watch the Euro 2016 Qualifiers as a result of channelling ‘Sport24Live’ through its IFE system.
