Executive airborne telecom solutions company, TrueNorth Avionics, has received certification from Transport Canada for its TrueNorth Express airborne e-mail communications with the initial installation aboard a Falcon 50 aircraft.
MC2, TrueNorth’s dealer of the year for 2010, performed the installation and, as the STC certificate holder, is already planning a number of additional installations.
Compatible with systems from most Iridium airborne telephone manufacturers, the TrueNorth Express is a compact, plug-in hardware module that lets aircraft operators use their BlackBerry smartphones to send and receive e-mail worldwide over their existing Iridium satcom phone.
“The most affordable way to add reliable e-mail service for BlackBerry operators, the Express is both convenient to use and easy to install,” claimed Mark van Berkel, president of TrueNorth.
“And we’re also pleased that Mid-Canada Mod Center has been successful in showing its customers the value of the Express,” Mr van Berkel added.
Bill Arseneault, VP of Mid-Canada Mod Center commented, “The certification went quickly and smoothly, and we’re finding the Express is as easy to sell as it is to install. Aircraft operators are tired of having to pay a lot of money to use their smartphones for e-mail, and the TrueNorth Express is the right product at the right time.”
