SR Technics is modifying the cabin layout and installing inflight entertainment systems plus Mobile OnAir on three Airbus A321s and two A319s for Qatar Airways.
in addition to the IFE and the OnAir communication equipment, which will support passengers’ use of mobile phones and internet access using laptops with GSM cards, the cabin modifications include the installation of a new seat layout and the new Qatar single aisle aircraft standard, plus renewal of all galleys and lavatories. The enhanced cabin concept provides more luggage space for the passengers and reduces the overall weight of the aircraft thanks to lighter interior materials, according to SRT.
“We are delighted that Qatar Airways has favoured SR Technics with this new contract and has confidence in our quality standards and the competitiveness of our service,” says André Wall, the maintainer’s chief operating officer. The work is being carried out at SRT’s Zurich base and is due to be completed by the end of the year.
SR Technics is part of Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Aerospace’s MRO network, which also includes the Middle East’s largest independent MRO provider, Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT).
