SkyTheater has awarded the first dealership contract for its Luxury In-Flight Entertainment system (LIFE) to SkyService, an authorised dealer and installation company with facilities in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.
SkyTheater’s Toronto partner, Barry Goldlist, explains, “Our LIFE system has been in development since early 2011. It has been installed on quite a number of aircraft to date.”
LIFE is equipped with SkyTheater’s custom STRATO sound technology, “originally developed for a group of Hollywood studio executives who continued to experience compromised sound of their movies and television programmes when they travelled on company aircraft,” says Goldlist. “Under the guidance of Gregg Launer (SkyTheatre systems creator and owner), SkyTheater was asked to create a unique sonic cabin environment that was equal to any real theatre experience. STRATO sound was developed, and perfected to encompass every cinema created sound design and incorporate them into one system for most planes.”
On the new dealership contract, Goldlist stated, “We were searching for a fixed base operator facility that could understand our needs and demands for perfection. We have found it in SkyService.
“For all corporate, business and regional aircraft clients, SkyService will provide approved engineering (FAA, Transport Canada, EASA, etc.) and complete the full installation with ground/flight testing and all related documentation to release the aircraft back to service. Their avionics and maintenance teams are highly specialised in completing the most complex aircraft modifications and/or upgrades, having decades of experience with Original Equipment Manufacturer training.”
Imam Cella, director of avionics business development and sales at SkyService, remarked, “We are thrilled to become the first approved SkyTheater dealership. With our new SkyTheater in-house dealership we are now able to offer world class, turn-key, IFE solutions to our existing clients and we look forward to working with many new clients on LIFE systems along with our host of other offerings.”
