Securaplane Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meggitt PLC, has completed an STC to install its HD cameras into Gulfstream G350, G450 and G550 aircraft.

This STC provides Gulfstream operators with the ability to retrofit their standard definition cameras and equipment due to Securaplane’s similar design characteristics. The HD CMX camera system is a direct form, fit and function for the standard definition Securaplane camera system already installed on many Gulfstream aircraft.

The CMX-HD cameras offer multiple functions for aircraft including in-flight entertainment, situational awareness and gear position viewing. Available for installation on the vertical fin or belly fuselage, the camera’s lightweight and aerodynamic design incorporates a heated sapphire glass window for exceptional imaging performance. The camera has been tested to ensure that it can withstand all of the severe environmental conditions that airplanes encounter.

Securaplane’s HD cameras use an 1080p resolution and are enclosed in a heated sapphire glass, which allows for rapid demisting and defrosting, yielding camera use in the coldest and most rugged ambient conditions.
