Lufthansa Technik's Completion Centre in Hamburg has finished the second of three Boeing 747-8 VVIP cabin conversions and the aircraft has now been delivered to an undisclosed customer.
“The delivery of this second 747-8 is another milestone for us in the area of VVIP completions for widebody aircraft. We have handed over an individually designed, state-of-the-art aircraft fitted with high-quality materials to meet the most discerning demands in terms of exclusivity and comfort,” stated Walter Heerdt, SVP of VIP and executive jet solutions, Lufthansa Technik. “The many years’ experience with different aircraft types, our innovative strength and the passion of our employees has enabled us to set new standards.”
The company says engineers faced significant challenges with the 440 square meter cabin’s design, which used certain materials for the first time. The integrated cabin management and in-flight entertainment system now offers broadband internet, GSM, WLAN, Live TV and satellite communication.
