From mid-December, travellers in SAS Business Class flying from Scandinavia to the US or Asia, will be able to enjoy a new SAS Comfort Kit with products from carefully selected Scandinavian brands.

“Collaborating with suppliers focusing on Scandinavian sustainable design and sustainable travel is of the utmost priority for SAS. We work with everything from aircraft that are more fuel efficient, partnerships to develop biofuel, choice of lighter weight cabin fittings, to biodegradable packaging plus choice of partners that pursue such developments,” said Karl Sandlund, executive vice president commercial.

The SAS Comfort Kit consists of five products from prominent and forward-thinking Scandinavian brands. Each SAS Comfort Kit contains:

Washbag and eye mask from Filippa K, which is heading towards entirely sustainable production by 2030. Modern and stylish washbag in three colours, petrol, nude and black and a total blackout eye mask in black;
Humble Co, toothbrush with cornstarch handle and natural fresh mint flavour tooth paste;
Swedish Stockings, made from recycled material and using environment friendly dyes. Soft and warm socks in graphite grey;
Skin cream and lip balm from Verso Skincare. The products are made with as few ingredients as possible to reduce environment impact. Slightly scented and gentle skin lotion made exclusively to match the air quality and environment on board and a refreshing lip balm with a hint of mint;
Ear plugs from Swedsafe, which uses a highly developed quality control system to reduce emissions.

“We are proud to offer something extra and unique to our modern travellers, who, like SAS, value high quality, local design and sustainable products. Several of the products have been developed especially for SAS to match our ambitious targets. The products celebrate materials, function, design and consideration in the widest sense,” Sandlund adds.
