With the opening of new offices in Melbourne, Ottowa and Denver, Satcom Direct now has nine international offices and five US operations where on-site staff are providing training, support and satcom system consultation for pilots, flight operations staff and maintenance crews.
“Each new location was strategically selected to serve our expanding customer base,” said David Greenhill, president of Satcom Direct. “This expansion supports our mission to provide total solutions to our customers. We are where they are.”
Satcom Direct has now joined the Australian Business Aviation Association and will celebrate the opening of its Melbourne office at AVALON: Australia’s International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Expo.
As well as providing technical support services to customers located in or visiting the region, the company’s new Ottawa facility is also focused on the research and development of new products. Satcom Direct feels this is fitting, since Ottowa has a long history in satellite communications technology, with more than 85 percent of the world’s flying satcom satellite data units having been developed there.
Finally, Satcom Direct’s newest US operation is home to its product management team and will eventually be the home of a Rocky Mountain area Training Lab. The office is in the Denver suburb of Englewood, strategically located near Centennial Airport (KAPA), which ranks among the 30 busiest airports in the U.S. in terms of landings and takeoffs and is the third busiest general aviation airport in the US.
