Qatar Airways (Qatar) has announced plans to double the content available on its Oryx in-flight entertainment (IFE) system from March onwards, raising the choice of entertainment channels from 950 to 2,000.
This news follows the airline’s introduction of Oscar-themed content in February – to coincide with the awards ceremony – such as ‘Birdman’ and ‘The Theory of Everything.’ Arabic film premieres on-board in March include Geran El Saad, a family comedy featuring Sameh Hussien and Kuwaiti box office hit Elisa Khatafha Jameel, as well as Rock the Casbah starring Omar El Sherief and Nadeen Labaky.
New television content will include more than 850 episodes of popular comedy shows including ‘Modern Family’ and ‘New Girl’ as well as dramas like ‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘The Good Wife.’
Qatar’s Oryx IFE system also features games and audio content which are updated every month.
