PARIS 2015: Zodiac Inflight Innovations to provide Airbus with HBC technology

Zodiac Inflight Innovations, a division of Zodiac Aerospace, has been chosen to supply aircraft equipment and terminal hardware as part of Airbus’ High Bandwidth Connectivity (HBC) programme to enable the use of Inmarsat’s Global Xpress service onboard its aircraft.The HBC programme currently covers the Ka-band system for Airbus A320, A330 and A380 aircraft. The equipment Zodiac Inflight Innovations will supply includes a radome compliant with ARINC-791, adapter plate, skirt seal and antenna, as well as other terminal hardware.“High Bandwidth Connectivity (HBC) represents the new generation of connectivity services for both passengers and airlines,” said Matt Smith, CEO at Zodiac Inflight Innovations. “The system provides high speed internet to passengers, and many other opportunities for airline ancillary revenue for example, and airlines will be able to improve its operation via real time aircraft monitoring.”
