IDAIR, a joint venture between Panasonic Avionics Corporation and Lufthansa Technik, has deployed INSIDE Secure’s Digital Rights Management (DRM) software, DRM Fusion, to protect the content within its in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for corporate jets.
The Fusion DRM solution allows IDAIR’s IFE system to offer VIP passengers early window content, which the company believes is becoming one of the differentiators in passenger satisfaction and their selection of airlines, whilst preventing electronic piracy. The system has been approved by the major Hollywood studios.
“Our downloadable DRM Fusion is the gold standard of the industry. We are pleased to have yet another key deployment of this solution in the market,” commented Martin Bergenwall, EVP of the mobile security division at INSIDE Secure. “Studios are requiring better security across distribution channels from the traditional linear TV and OTT video on demand services, to the more recent in-flight entertainment systems. Once again, INSIDE Secure perfectly fits the most demanding customer’s requirements.”
Companies such as the BBC, HBO, and Sky already use DRM Fusion to premium content playbacks on Android and Apple iOS devices and provide anytime, anywhere viewing. More than 100 million applications protected by DRM Fusion Agent have been downloaded by consumers worldwide.
