Thrane & Thrane presents its new AVIATOR Wireless Handset to the Middle East business aviation market for the first time at this year’s MEBA event.Designed specifically for in-flight communications, the compact and lightweight AVIATOR Wireless Handset offers users an extensive range of advanced features for voice and data communications including echo and noise cancellation to ensure unmatched audio quality. The handset’s highly intuitive user interface, tactile controls and 2.2” TFT colour screen, offer a design similar to that of cell or mobile phones, making it exceptionally easy for users to operate.“Our new AVIATOR Wireless Handset allows users to make and receive calls in-flight via the aircraft’s AVIATOR SwiftBroadband system,“ said Kim Gram, Vice President, Aeronautical Business Unit, Thrane & Thrane. “So whether its business passengers calling colleagues in the office or the pilot contacting ground control, communication is efficient and convenient.”The handset connects through a wireless access point to the aircraft’s AVIATOR SwiftBroadband system for users to make calls over the IP based network. The solution is charged with a purpose-built battery charging cradle, installed in the aircraft cabin and powered by the aircraft’s own power supply. When fully charged via the cradle, the handset is able to remain charged in standby mode for over 24 hours.
