The Air France subsidiary, Joon, is offering a new seating option for families with the launch of Cosy Joon – seats that can be turned into a bed or play area.

In some rows of four seats on Joon’s long-haul A340 flights, two adjacent seats can be transformed into a bed or play-area for two children.

The headrest is used as an extra seat to fill the space between the rows – providing children an area of approximately 105 x 76cm on two adjacent seats. A mattress topper can be laid over the top and seat belt extension is also provided by crew.

On it’s website, Joon states: “Cosy Joon makes it possible for kids to sleep horizontally in a comfy bed and have play space! In an instant, the cabin crew can transform your child’s seat into a comfortable area for him or her to play and sleep. And suddenly, the entire space between rows is all yours!”

Situated in the four middle seats of rows 33 to 36 of the Airbus A340 aircraft, a total of 16 Cosy Joon seats are available on the A340 long-haul flights.

Joon confirmed the seat is a GEVEN Piuma sofa seat which has been modified slightly.

The seats are available for families made up of one or two adults and two young children all on the same booking.

Passengers can book these seats up to 55 hours before departure for €20 per seat. Cosy Joon is free for Flying Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum members and their families on the same booking file.
