Inmarsat has announced that global data plans for its new in-flight connectivity service for business aviation, Jet ConneX, is now available on all Dassault Aviation aircraft.
The milestone was achieved after existing radomes for Dassault Aviation’s 7X, 8X and aftermarket F900 aircraft were tested and authorised to operate with the JetWave Ka-band hardware manufactured by Honeywell for the Jet ConneX service.
Dedicated Ka-band radomes for Jet ConneX are also expected to be available for Dassault Aviation aircraft in 2017, improving connectivity service levels on the private jets.
Kurt Weidemeyer, Inmarsat’s VP business and general aviation, said, “Dassault customers are the driving force behind this effort. They wanted Jet ConneX faster than radome manufacturers can produce a radome, so we removed the barrier.
“Honeywell recently received FAA certification for Jet ConneX on the Falcon 7X aircraft using its exclusive JetWave hardware, and we expect certification for other models to be available soon,” Weidemeyer concluded.
