India-based Jet Airways has launched CinePlay, a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering for passengers showing cinematic interpretations of famous stories from Indian theatre.
“Jet Airways has always been a proud ambassador for Indian culture and the screening of CinePlay shows in-flight is another opportunity for the airline to show the world how rich this culture is, as well as giving our Indian guests access to popular in-flight entertainment,” explained Gaurang Shetty, SVP of commercial for Jet Airways.
Available across all cabins on Jet Airways flights, the new CinePlay IFE content has been produced in Hindi with English subtitles. The concept was founded by entrepreneur Subodh Maskara and creatively mentored by Indian film actress and director Nandita Das, a husband and wife team.
Films being played will include Mohan Rakesh’s ‘Adhe Adhure’ and ‘Between the Lines’ from Nandita Das and Divya Jagdale (pictured), both of which will be exclusively available on Jet Airways’ IFE system.
