Inflight Dublin has been awarded a series of contracts to provide in-flight entertainment content and solutions to three airlines, SriLankan Airlines, TUI and Icelandair.

Barry Flynn, chief commercial officer for Inflight Dublin, commented, “We are extremely proud to have such prestigious airlines choose Inflight Dublin to be their content service provider” adding that the series of contracts “showcases our continued ability to compete and win big contracts.”

The in-flight entertainment (IFE) provider has been appointed by SriLankan Airlines to provide in-flight entertainment services for the next three years. Through the collaboration, the airline will be able to offer a collection of Hollywood new release titles, choice classics, international movies, television shows and a diverse selection of audio content.

“We are very excited to begin this new chapter with Inflight Dublin,” said Vipula Gunatilleka, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, adding that with IFE being a “key” for improving passenger experience, “All the latest content being made available to our passengers supports our goal of providing our customers with truly a unique travel experience.”

Meanwhile in Europe, Inflight Dublin was awarded a contract to supply Icelandair’s in-flight entertainment with an inventory of recent Oscar-winning films, as well as a selection of classics, as well as comedy and drama television boxsets. The offering will also include a collection of locally produced movies, television shows, audio albums and audiobooks in native Icelandic.

Birna Osk Einarsdottir, chief sales and customer experience office of Icelandair called the contract “a great step forward for us” adding that the content would enhance the airlines commitment to “delivering the best travel experience to our passengers.”

The company also won a contract to provide IFE content to the tourism group, TUI. Inflight Dublin covers licensing, programming and delivery of in-flight content for the TUI airlines in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Nordics. Content includes blockbuster movies, television programmes, audio selections and broadcasts in eight languages (English, German, French, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish).

The new IFE content is available across the fleet of TUI’s Boeing 787 and 767 (in-seat IFE) and the Boeing 737NG (overhead IFE).

Inflight Dublin’s Barry Flynn told Inflight the company was proud to have been chosen by the airlines, commenting: “We pride ourselves on providing a proactive and creative service that does what it says on the tin – no smoke and mirrors operationally and great value for content, technical, and supporting design & marketing services.”

Remarking on what the series of contracts might reflect in terms of take-up of IFE, Flynn said: “The “one stop shop” requirement by airlines has become more evident over the past 18 months and Inflight Dublin ticks a lot of the airline requirements in this regard.”
