The 1st Inflight airline in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) award winners were announced in Dubai yesterday during the Aircraft Interiors Middle East show (AIME).The publishers’ own top prize of airline of the year went to Emirates. Andy Grant was delighted with the win.Flydubai scooped two gongs, for Middle East content innovation and Best airline IFEC provider in the Middle East, in conjunction with the systems provider Lumexis. Daniel Kerrison, Vice President Inflight Product collected the award on behalf of the carrier.Publisher Becky Howells said, “We’re delighted with how the first workshop and awards were embraced by the region. Emirates and flydubai were worthy winners, but had some tough competition from other local and international carriers. This was a lovely opportunity to acknowledge suppliers to this vibrant market.”Other winners included:
- tZodiac Aerospace for the best seat-centric IFE system
- tBluebox Avionics for the best handheld IFE system
- tOnAir for the best connectivity provider
- tRockwell Collins for innovation in corporate jet cabins
Middle East airlines are renowned for being some of the best in the world in terms of passenger experience. Consequently, Inflight magazine’s IFEC Pavilion returned to the show this year in partnership with Dubai-based F&E Aerospace to provide a platform for leading IFEC suppliers and manufacturers to showcase their latest innovations and product offerings to key decision makers from this vibrant region.
