IFE Services to offer Icelandair Sony PSPs

Icelandair has signed an agreement with UK in-flight entertainment provider, IFE Services, to supply the carrier with Sony PlayStation Portables (PSPs).The PSPs will be offered as a complimentary system to adults and children on selected flights with Icelandair where seatback in-flight entertainment (IFE) is not available. Each PSP will come loaded with a choice of movies, TV programmes and digital comics as well as a broad selection of the latest PSP games. The PSP has a high-resolution, widescreen TFT display and a sleek lightweight design. Each unit offers a battery life of up to 11 hours with an option to increase it by a further 10 hours if required. IFE Services provides comprehensive crew training, full logistical support and can tailor, load and refresh content to suit airline requirements.”In peak season we add aircraft to our fleet. This is done in order to meet increased demand on our routes to and from Iceland and on our Trans Atlantic routes too,” stated Gudmundur Oskarsson, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Icelandair. “Unfortunately we are not able to offer seatback IFE on all additional aircraft and, therefore, the PSP portables are a great way for us to get as close as possible to the positive Icelandair experience our customers expect from us.”
