Honeywell to offer satcom solutions for new Gulfstream corporate jets

Honeywell Aerospace (Honeywell) is set to provide its full suite of satellite communications for Gulfstream’s new G500 and G600 business jets. The company's new AMT-700 antenna will use Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband to provide the aircraft with in-flight connectivity, allowing passengers to make calls and use in-flight Wi-Fi as well as ensuring clearer communication between pilots and air traffic controllers. The new Gulfstream jets will also be the first to feature Honeywell’s new touchscreen technologies – fully integrated with the cockpit and aircraft systems – alongside its SmartView Synthetic Vision System, which is designed to show an intuitive depiction of flight symbology and 3D terrain on the primary flight display. The system is designed to reduce pilot workload and enhance situational awareness.“Honeywell has worked with Gulfstream to bring the latest technological developments to the company’s fleet for years,” said Mike Beazley, VP global sales, business and general aviation, Honeywell Aerospace. “This relationship is evidenced by the fact that we are now the sole satellite communications provider on the G500 and G600 aircraft. We are working together to ensure that everyone who steps onto a Gulfstream aircraft has the most advanced and comfortable experience possible.”
