Hawaiian Airlines has started showing the opening episode of the new Hawaii Five-0 TV series as part of its Hawaiian Skies inflight video programme on transpacific flights in advance of its national TV debut on CBS on September 20.
The preview screenings of the modern-day remake of the classic Honolulu crime drama series are the result of a marketing agreement with the series’ producers. As part of the agreement a Hawaiian Airlines aircraft is seen in the opening credits of every episode. Hawaiian’s nearly 4,000 employees are also among the first to receive a new Hawaii Five-0 ring tone to download on their cell phones.
The preview is showing on Hawaiian’s transpacific flights between Hawaii and Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix and Las Vegas in the western US plus Manila, Sydney, American Samoa and Tahiti.
