Flight Display Systems (FDS), a developer and manufacturer of cabin management systems, in-flight entertainment solutions and special mission military displays, has been acquired by Harbert Private Equity Fund III (HPEF III).
Reed MacDonald, who previously worked as COO for Flight Display Systems, has been appointed as the new CEO of the company. He commented, “I am extremely pleased to have HPEF III backing the FDS team. There is a strong platform to build on, and I look forward to continuing to bring new and innovative products and services to market as well as enhancing the quality and reliability of our products through investments in systems, processes and human capital. This transaction brings significant momentum to a talented team.”
FDS hopes the investment of HPEF III will strengthen its position as a customer-centric provider of premium aircraft electronics as well as fuelling growth, expanding engineering and production capabilities and further enhancing partner relationships.
Founder of FDS, David Gray, remarked, “I am pleased to entrust Flight Display Systems to the capable hands of Reed Macdonald and the talented management team. I look forward to watching them take the company to new heights.”
