Gulf Air is extending its in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering with the launch of a new onboard channel named ‘Helwa Ya Bahrain’.
Helwa Ya Bahrain will be available on Gulf Air flights from 1 September and will initially offer two programmes: ‘Sawalef Tafash’, a popular Bahraini TV show, and ‘Bahrain Health’.
The latter programme has been produced by the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, Bahrain (RCSI) and will feature a variety of instructional content about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures. The programme is part of RCSI’s response to a survey they carried out in November 2013, which showed that nearly a third of the public in Bahrain have witnessed a person in cardiac arrest.
Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Bahrain said, “We are delighted to have this collaboration with Gulf Air, bringing us onboard and giving us the opportunity to showcase this important public awareness video. As an institution dedicated to enhancing health in Bahrain we are delighted to extend our support to this worthy endeavour and look forward to reaching a global audience.”
“As the Kingdom’s national carrier we are delighted to give our passengers the opportunity to enjoy locally-produced shows – whether for entertainment or public service,” commented Mr. Mohammed Amin Hulaiwah, Gulf Air’s director of corporate affairs and communications.
