For one month, Gogo is partnering with Brazilian mobile provider TIM, to offer discounted Wi-Fi to their PRA MIM Elite Black customers on Brazilian carrier, GOL Linhas Aéreas.

From 3 September until 3 October, elite members of TIM’s loyalty program, TIM PRA MIM, will receive a 30% discount on Wi-Fi passes for use on GOL’s Gogo 2Ku equipped aircraft.

“Airline passengers comprise a captive audience for global brands. They are highly sought after by third-party brand partners like TIM, who want to engage with them,” commented John Wade, Gogo’s president of commercial aviation. “Driving passenger satisfaction through free or discounted Gogo in-flight connectivity is a win/win for our airline partners and for Gogo.”

In a further example of Gogo’s approach to a Multi-payer Model, T-Mobile and Gogo partnered over Labor Day (3 September) to give 30 minutes free Wi-Fi for any mobile user (regardless of mobile provider) on any US domestic Gogo-equipped flight.

Currently, Un-carrier customers with T-Mobile ONE enjoy free messaging, visual voicemail and texting all flight long, plus a free hour of smartphone Wi-Fi on all Gogo-equipped domestic flights. And customers with T-Mobile ONE Plus get free Wi-Fi for the entire flight when they fly.
