Gogo has ended 2018 just shy of the 1,300 mark for net commercial aircraft installed with satellite in-flight connectivity.

A total of 1,296 commercial aircraft are now flying with satellite IFC from Gogo, with 477 installations made during 2018.

As of 31 December 2018, these figures break down as 1,007 aircraft installed and activated with 2Ku technology (categorized as Aircraft Online, or “AOL”); 252 aircraft installed and activated with Ku technology (categorized as AOL); 37 aircraft have been installed with 2Ku technology but not yet recorded as AOL; and approximately 1,000 2Ku aircraft in backlog.

“The shift of our global installed fleet to satellite IFC technology combined with our 2Ku availability of approximately 98%, continues to improve our customer’s in-flight Wi-Fi experience,” said Oakleigh Thorne, President and CEO of Gogo.
