Gogo has been granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the FAA and certification from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) to install its Ku-satellite based connectivity service on Japan Airlines' (JAL) Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
Gogo has partnered with JAL to install its connectivity service and wireless in-flight entertainment offering, Gogo Vision, on the carrier’s entire domestic fleet.
"This is a major milestone for Gogo and a big step in clearing the way for connectivity service on JAL service," explained Michael Small, Gogo's president and CEO. "We are proud to offer a consistent global connectivity experience anywhere our customers fly; whether it's on regional aircraft, domestic mainline aircraft or these Ku-equipped 777s that travel around the world."
