Embraer E2s to be equipped with Astronics emergency lighting/PSUs

Two subsidiaries of the Astronics Corporation, Luminescent Systems Inc. and PECO Inc., have been chosen by Diehl Aerospace GmbH to design, develop and supply the emergency lights and passenger service units (PSUs) for the Embraer E2 programme respectively.Diehl Aerospace GmbH was selected by Embraer as the prime contractor to supply the entire cabin lighting system, cabin management system (CMS) and the PSUs for the new E2 family of regional aircraft.The lighting system includes both interior exit signs and exterior emergency lights that take advantage of LED technology to ensure maximum reliability while significantly reducing power consumption.The PSUs incorporate adjustable airflow outlets, LED reading lights, passenger information signs, decorative LED lighting features and related electronics that interface with Diehl Aerospace GmbH’s CMS through a digital bus.Peter Gundermann, president and CEO of Astronics, stated, “We are very proud to take part in the Embraer E2 programme.
