Oman Air has taken delivery of the first of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners equipped with Thales’ AVANT in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
AVANT will provide passengers travelling on Oman Air’s 787 aircraft with an Android IFE system and Touch PMU handset which offer access to a wide selection of on-demand entertainment delivered through a passenger experience interface developed specifically with the airline.
Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Oman Air’s chief officer of management affairs, explained, “Oman Air is very happy with the Thales in-flight systems offered on our aircraft. Their innovative graphical user interface enables business and economy passengers to control the same impressive list of entertaining and informative features.
“Oman Air is currently undergoing an expansion programme that will see us operate 70 aircraft by 2020. As our fleet grows, we remain committed to ensuring the highest standards of passenger experience. The IFE systems we deploy are a key part of that experience and we have already received very positive customer feedback,” Al Raisi continued. “Thales' systems and services therefore match well with what we want for our passengers and operations. We found them to be the right company to work with and the whole team at Thales truly supports our vision.”
The second Oman Air 787 aircraft delivery is scheduled before the end of November 2015.
