digEplayer’s L7 handheld IFE systems are to be used by Sun Country Airlines on flights of three hours or longer, following a trial run of the devices by the airline.
Among the routes featuring the L7 will be Sun Country’s new service from Minneapolis-St Paul to London Gatwick which starts on 27 May.
“Sun Country is an award-winning airline focused on high-quality inflight amenities and superior customer service,” remarked Brad Heckel, president of digEcor. “The digEplayer L7 is a natural fit for Sun Country’s ‘We’ll put a smile on your face’ attitude. Our multi-year agreement with Sun Country further establishes the growing relevance of handheld IFE devices and the ability to earn ancillary revenues through initiatives such as rental programmes.”
“The success of Sun Country’s digEplayer programme over the last eight months and the exceptional features of digEplayer L7 led to the decision to upgrade and expand the programme,” explained Wendy Blackshaw, Sun Country’s VP marketing and sales. “For example, the touch screen technology, easy-to-use functionality and long battery life played a role in making the L7 the optimal choice for Sun Country and our passengers. This featured device enhances our world-class service which differentiates us from the competition.“
The new digEplayer L7 gives passengers the ability to personalise their entertainment by choosing from among 10 Hollywood movies, television programming, music, music videos and games. The devices will be complimentary for all first-class travellers with passengers in economy being able to rent the L7 for just $6.
