Gogo has been granted a Supplemental Type Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to equip Delta Air Lines’ (Delta) Boeing 757-200 and 767-400 aircraft with its Ku-band satellite in-flight connectivity equipment.
“This is another major milestone for Gogo and clears another hurdle in the process of outfitting Delta's international fleet with in-flight Wi-Fi,” explained Michael Small, Gogo's president and CEO. “As a full-service communications company that operates a global network at 30,000 feet, we are proud to offer a consistent connectivity experience anywhere our airline partners fly; whether it's on regional aircraft in the U.S., domestic mainline aircraft or long-haul international aircraft that travel around the world.”
Gogo expects to complete installation on Delta's international fleet during 2016. The company has already received FAA certification to install its Ku-band equipment on all Boeing 747-400, 767-300 and Airbus A330 aircraft operated by Delta.
