Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific Air has selected Thales’ Aviobook Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solution to digitise all their current flight dispatch documentation.
The Thales EFB will provide Cebu Pacific Air pilots a fully digitised solution that will increase their situational awareness and enable CEB to go paperless, reducing its cumulative aircraft fuel burn, and consequently its carbon emissions.
“Our investment in the EFB aligns with our goal of operational excellence through the introduction of systems that enhance safety and efficiency in flight operations. With the EFB, aircraft performance software and aeronautical charts are readily available, flight plans are constantly updated, and aircraft documentation and procedures are easily accessed. This is important when time-critical decisions need to be made and executed in the flight deck,” said Capt. Sam Avila, vice president-Flight Operations, Cebu Pacific Air.
Cebu Pacific rolled-out 5th generation iPad tablets that contain the pilots’ EFB, an information management suite that helps flight crews perform the necessary tasks to fly and navigate an aircraft. In addition, the EFB solution will help Cebu Pacific Air reduce its environmental footprint and manage its operational costs.
