Jet Aviation Basel has selected the Rockwell Collins Venue HD cabin management system to be installed on a narrow-body Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).
Announced at the inaugural Business Jet Interiors event in Cannes, this retrofit represents the first BBJ to be equipped with Venue’s newest enhancements, including a personal 10.6” HD touch-screen monitor for passengers offering control of cabin functions and entertainment viewing from their seat. Flight Attendants can also manage Venue’s entertainment and environmental settings from a 10.6” HD galley touch-screen monitor.
A 4” personal programmable switch panel incorporates a touch-enabled LED backlit screen that supports swipes and gestures to select lights and audio/video content. The touch-screen switch can be changed to function as a VIP switch and can display flight information such as time to destination and local time.
“Venue has quickly become the most selected HD cabin system in all market segments, with more than 120 installations ranging from turboprops to large VIP jets,” remarked Dave Austin, vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems for Rockwell Collins. “Jet Aviation’s selection of it further supports its popularity.”
“An important part of Jet Aviations’ completions strategy is to be the front runner in high quality cabin technology and outfitting,” declared Vice President Completions Center at Jet Aviation Basel, Neil Boyle. “Part of this strategy is to provide our customers a Cabin Management Systems (CMS) that supports the wide variety of advanced audio and media applications and systems. After a detailed selection process, the Rockwell Collins Venue systems commercial appeal and technical capabilities was considered by us as the perfect fit for our narrow body program.”
