British Airways (BA) and its French subsidiary, OpenSkies, have opted to add Bluebox Avionics’ Content Carousel offering to the airlines in-flight entertainment (IFE) service on transatlantic flights.
Content Carousel is a purpose-designed user interface for Bluebox Avionics’ iPad solution, Bluebox Ai. It aims to deliver a more engaging and intuitive navigation experience for users, and greater flexibility for depth of content and filtering options. It also uses iOS gestures functionality.
BA deploys Bluebox iPads aboard A318 aircraft on its Club World London City service, offering all-seat business class flights between London and JFK. Similarly, OpenSkies, which offers a premium airline service connecting Paris to New York, provides each passenger with a Bluebox iPad for IFE.
“We were really impressed with the look and feel of the new Bluebox GUI; it was an easy decision to move forward with the upgrade,” explained Karin Drylie, Marketing & Product Manager at OpenSkies. “Our passengers will now benefit from a more intuitive user interface, coupled with a tailored selection of programmes to fit our ‘Paris-Yorkers’ clients’ expectations as we’ve also just enhanced our entertainment offer.”
