Azul Brazilian Airlines (Azul) has equipped 39 of its aircraft with TECOM’s KuStream 2000 Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) TV receive antenna system with an aim to improve the performance of the carrier’s in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering.
The TECOM KuStream 2000 antenna system consists of an External Antenna Assembly (EAA) and an Antenna Control Unit (ACU) used to receive television signals from Ku Band satellites. These signals are converted for displaying 48 channels of live television entertainment on board the aircraft during flight. The system is custom designed for Azul for operating in the equatorial regions.
"TECOM is pleased to have the opportunity to work with Azul Brazilian Airlines on the KuStream 2000 satellite antenna system development, successful launch and deployment for the Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) TV service application. We are gratified at the customer acceptance of this product and look forward to additional installations of the KuStream 2000 on Azul aircraft,” commented TECOM President, Gene Joles.
