Rockwell Collins has unveiled its new ultra-thin overhead in-flight entertainment (IFE) monitors for regional jets at the 2011 APEX event, claiming to provide high-quality video in a lightweight, low-power unit.
The new overhead 9” LCD monitors are retractable and can be mounted directly to the overhead storage bin without reconfiguration, making for easy installation.
When coupled with Rockwell Collins dPAVE IFE system, regional jet operators can provide passengers with high-quality digital entertainment, pre-recorded announcements and the supplier’s Airshow 3D moving map, in an aim to reduce weight, volume and power consumption.
Rockwell Collins’ new overhead IFE LCD monitors are planned to be available for regional jets early next year.
