Thales has followed in the footsteps of Rockwell Collins, finalising an agreement with Inmarsat to become a Value Added Reseller (VAR) of the GX Aviation’s broadband connectivity.
“Connectivity now forms part of every conversation we have with airlines about in-flight entertainment,” explains Dominique Giannoni, CEO of Thales’ in-flight entertainment and connectivity activities. “We are now able to offer our airline customers access to GX Aviation Services. This is a very important milestone, the services will be offered both integrated with our AVANT system or on a standalone basis.”
Leo Mondale, president of aviation at Inmarsat, added, “We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Thales with the addition of GX Aviation. They are a major player in the aerospace industry, as well as one of the major in-flight entertainment and connectivity companies. Having Thales on board supports our goal to make GX Aviation widely available to airlines all around the world.”
