UAE-based flydubai has appointed Post Modern Group division AMP International to provide content programming, management and related technical services to support its in-flight entertainment system. Services to be provided include feature films, TV content and audio. The account will be managed by Maya Sheikh from the AMP/PME regional office in Beirut.
The win is the latest of several contracts Post Modern has won in recent months. In July both Philippine Airlines and Middle East Airlines appointed AMP — the former Airline Media Productions — to provide a similar range of services. And Turkish Airlines selected Post Modern Edit to provide a range of IFE support services.
flydubai is the launch customer for the new Lumexis fibre optic IFE system, which offers passengers a choice of paid and free content on 8.9-inch high definition, touch screen LCD monitors. The airline started operations in June, 2009 and has a fleet of nine new 737-800’s with a further 44 on order. In October it is due to take delivery of Boeing’s first Sky Interior aeroplane, which will be equipped with Lumexis’ new Fiber-to-the-Screen (FTTSTM) system.
“I look forward with great anticipation to working with AMP and Lumexis to launch the next generation of in-flight entertainment," says Ghaith al Ghaith, the airline’s CEO. "Together we will deliver an unparalleled customer experience while maintaining our low cost base”.
“We are honoured and delighted to be selected by flydubai to assist with the launch of the latest generation of IFE," adds Amir Samnani, managing partner and COO of Post Modern Group. "We are looking forward to working with flydubai and the Lumexis team.”
