American Airlines is vowing to be the first domestic airline to provide premium class passengers the latest cutting edge in-flight entertainment with the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1. later this year.The new Android platform will be offered onboard the carrier’s premium cabins during transcontinental flights between New York’s JFK and Los Angeles, JFK and San Francisco, and Miami and Los Angeles served with 767-200 and 767-300 aircraft. On international flights to and from Europe and South America served with 767-300 aircraft; and transcontinental flights departing from Boston to Los Angeles served with 757 aircraft.
Powered by the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) platform, the Samsung device enables a unique viewing experience, featuring a bold and vibrant LCD, with brilliant colours and crisp definition. Other features include an ultra-slim, lightweight design; 10-inch touchscreen; fast and smooth transitions between applications; intuitive navigation and USB accessories support.In addition to new entertainment features, American Airlines plans to revitalise their fleet by investing in enhancements such as fresh, new cabin interiors, more Wi-Fi and updated powerports.
