ALTO Aviation (ALTO) has designed a new Cabin Public Address (PA) and audio entertainment solution specifically for Embraer Phenom 100 and 300 business jets which can be fully integrated with the aircraft’s existing in-flight entertainment packages.
The PA system employs speakers and a digital amplifier for factory provisioned speaker locations, allowing the pilot to communicate safety and personal announcements to passengers in the cabin who aren’t wearing intercom headsets.
Flight crew can also make PA announcements from the cockpit by selecting the PA key on the audio panel. When PA is selected from the cockpit, a PA chime will activate.
Furthermore, the solution enables passengers to plug in their personal electronic devices (PEDs) and listen to their favourite music through ALTO’s premium digital sound system. Volume settings and music selection can be controlled through the PEDs. When a PA event occurs, it will override any entertainment audio playing.
A second option offers four source inputs, typically including XM radio, CD/DVD, Aux input and PA. Source selection and volume control is executed using an ALTO ACAPELLA VIP keypad. A secondary aux input is also available at the keypad.
“This solution provides operators with a basic PA system not offered in new Phenom Aircraft, which provides an option for a premium audio entertainment system that ALTO Aviation is recognised for in the business aviation industry,” commented Steve Lord, ALTO’s senior technical sales manager.
