Hainan Airlines will equip its future fleet of wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, the first of which is due to enter service in late 2017, with Thales’ AVANT in-flight entertainment (IFE) system.
The airline’s A330s will feature the latest AVANT full high definition monitors – the most lightweight Thales claims it has ever deployed – featuring high power USB charging for personal electronic devices.
“Hainan Airlines is a long-term customer of Thales, and we are pleased to reinforce our successful relationship by providing to the airline the most advanced IFE solution from Thales,” declared Dominique Giannoni, CEO, Thales InFlyt Experience. “This selection is a testament to our continued investment in the China market. We look forward to collaborating with Hainan Airlines to delight passengers.”
The carrier already operates Thales IFE systems on both Boeing and Airbus aircraft, and as part of this new commitment, Thales is investing resources in China to further enhance software and media capabilities that will serve to enrich passenger experience and satisfy local market demands.
