AIX: Boeing to certify AVIATOR S on 737/777s

Cobham SATCOM and Boeing have signed a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) for the certification of AVIATOR 600S and 700S systems on Boeing 777 and 737 aircraft.The agreement is Cobham SATCOM’s first contract with an OEM for the AVIATOR S Series, which supports Inmarsat’s new generation SwiftBroadband Safety service. It allows Cobham and Boeing to work together on the design of the AVIATOR 600S and 700S solutions on Boeing Next-Generation 737, 737 MAX, 777-300ER and 777X aircraft.“This is a defining agreement for AVIATOR S and Cobham SATCOM,” asserted Kim Gram, vicepresident of Cobham SATCOM’s aeronautical business unit. “It is an endorsement for the SSeries family by one of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world, and will make itpossible for us to deliver AVIATOR 600S and 700S onto two of the best-selling aircraft flyingtoday, used by airlines around the world.”
