AIX 2015: Rockwell Collins to offer PAVES PSS upgrade

Rockwell Collins has revealed its PAVES Passenger Services System (PSS) upgrade solution for air transport aircraft, featuring a lightweight, low-cost reading light and cabin crew call system with optional USB charging port for personal devices.Rockwell Collins’ PAVES PSS is a scalable solution for older in-service aircraft that are facing in-flight entertainment (IFE) obsolescence and is compatible with any overhead IFE upgrade available for the market.“Passenger service systems are a necessary component to an IFE upgrade; it’s not just about installing new servers and video monitors,” explained Greg Irmen, VP and general manager of flight controls and information systems for Rockwell Collins. “Our PAVES PSS provides airlines with a solution that will keep its cabins viable well into the future.”Rockwell Collins’ PAVES PSS will be available by the end of 2015.
