Rockwell Collins’ PAVES On-demand in-flight entertainment (IFE) system now complies with all line-fit requirements for Airbus A320 universal platforms and Boeing 737 aircraft.
Rockwell Collins claims that PAVES is the first seat-centric solution to achieve original equipment manufacturer (OEM) ‘technical offerability’ status for single-aisle aircraft. The system is equipped with a quick-release mechanism for the removal and replacement of in-seat displays.
PAVES On-demand can seamlessly integrate with Rockwell Collins’ PAVES Broadcast overhead IFE system, providing airlines with the ability to configure cabins to meet their mission needs, such as in-seat IFE in first class and overhead IFE in economy. The airlines are also able to control the loading and unloading of their own digital content.
Sichuan Airlines is the launch customer for PAVES On-demand with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2015.
