AirAsia launches A320 with Ejen Ali livery

AirAsia, in partnership with animated series Ejen Ali, has launched the MATA Spy Jet, an AirAsia Airbus A320 aircraft designed with a livery inspired by the show.

The launch is a culmination of the #MisiAspirasiAirAsia campaign, a partnership between Ejen Ali and AirAsia that aims to inspire children to be the future leaders of the world, emphasising four values – being aspirational, thrifty, friendly and kind.

The campaign kicked off in September with a social media competition, where Ejen Ali and AirAsia recruited top ‘Ejens’ by inviting parents to submit videos of their kids representing the four values. A grand prize of 1 million BIG points – equivalent to one year worth of free flights for the entire family – was awarded to Muhammad Adam Rashidi Bin Mohd Rafiq.

The top four Ejens were also invited to join AirAsia and Ejen Ali on a visit to the Orion Home, a home housing 87 underprivileged children under the patronage of The Budimas Charitable Foundation located in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan.

“The launch of the livery marks a momentous occasion for Ejen Ali, as the first Malaysian animation to be flying high with AirAsia,” said Ahmad Izham Omar, chief executive officer of Primeworks Studios. “We take pride in being one of the leading flag-bearers of Malaysian animation and with Ejen Ali in the air, we hope more kids around the world will be charmed and inspired by this spunky hero to do great things.”

Spencer Lee, head of commercial, AirAsia Malaysia said: “The whole concept of #MisiAspirasiAirAsia is to encourage the younger generation to unleash their hidden talents in a fun way. At the same time, we hope to inspire them to be the future leaders of the world. This partnership with Ejen Ali has provided a fun experience to the younger generation through #MisiAspirasiAirAsia to chase their big dreams. We continually look for innovative ways to inspire future young leaders.”

Fans of the animation can now watch Ejen Ali’s season 1 on tonton, via ROKKI wi-fi, offering free in-flight entertainment including games, music and videos on-board AirAsia flights.
