Air Astana expands fleet with second Airbus A321neo

Air Astana, the Kazakhstan-based airline, has expanded its fleet with the delivery of its third A320neo family aircraft and enhanced its international network.

Air Astana took delivery of its second Airbus A321neo on 2 June which will be operated on the airline’s domestic and international routes including flights to Russia, Georgia, Turkey, UAE, Central Asia and China.

The new aircraft offers 179 seats, 28 in business and 151 in economy, in a two-class layout, the aircraft is also equipped with an in-seat IFE system.

In total the airline has ordered 17 A320neo family aircraft with the first (A320neo) and second (A321neo) having previously been delivered, the remaining 15 aircraft are to be delivered in the next two years.

The airline also launched flights to two new destinations in Russia.The new Astana – Tyumen route commenced on 2 June operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The route is served with an Embraer E190 with nine business class and 88 economy class seats.

The second route, Astana – Kazan, commenced on 3 June, operating on Sundays with an Airbus A320 and Embraer E190 aircraft. The new service supplements the existing Almaty – Kazan flight which operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
